Memorial Day at Lowe's

We have new neighbors that are retired and therefore cut their grass every two days.  Which makes our grass look awful about every two days.  Also our weedwacker died and we now have weeds that are the height of the fence.  Finally we gave in and went to Lowe's to get a weedwacker so the neighbors will stop hating us.  Oh the photo ops that awaited us at this store!

Because this is just adorable.

Tower Grove Farmer's Market

Summer in STL brings lots of delicious farmer's markets and we have spent the last two Saturday mornings at Tower Grove Farmer's Market picking up strawberries, honey, overpriced but wonderful goat cheese, and artisan grilled cheeses.  Did I mention there was cheese?  It was hot and baby and mama were sweaty so we played in the water after all that cheese.  Ha.

Swimming

This spring/summer started with Jackson taking swimming "lesson" at the rec center here.  The sessions are each four classes long, on a Saturday morning.  Here are quick videos from his first 2 sessions.  Brad and I switched off taking the lessons with him.  We are now very proficient at 1) The Wheels on the Bus and 2) Splashing and 3) Awkward small talk with other parents.

This is from his second lesson with Brad.

Here are some pictures.

And after the four weeks, we got a certificate of completion!  And his first report card.  He needs to work on blowing bubbles.  Something he has mastered outside of the pool.  It's proudly displayed on the fridge.

Errands

Our weekends are always packed with errands, trying to get groceries, returns to stores, etc., done before the week starts over again.  These things used to be just stuff on our to do list and they still are -  but they are a lot more fun with Jackson.  Here are a few pictures from lunch at El Pollo Loco (their food is eh) and a trip to Sam's (don't go there on a holiday weekend) and Target (home away from home.)

Sam's carts do not accommodate baby carriers.

Jackson liked these body pillows at Sam's.  He also had an audience during this playtime.

Vote for us!

It looks like Jackson may be in the running for a Parents Magazine contest! I don't know what our real chances are but you don't know if you don't try!  Vote for us! Thanks!

Playground

We took Jackson to the playground Sunday evening.  I think Brad and I had more fun than Jackson but you can't tell from these well edited photos!

Smart Baby

This was taken at our home away from home (no, not Target) Barnes and Noble in West County mall.  Jackson stopped me in the store and wanted to take a look at this magazine featuring Steve Jobs, creator of all things Apple. Ha.

Sleeping this morning

We were waking Jackson (regretfully!) to run errands this morning and this is how we found him sleeping. Bunny pillow!
